Why JL99 should NOT wear the #1 plate in 2013.

The #1 plate is bad. STAY AWAY from the #1 plate ...... unless your name is Mick Doohan (or kinda Valentino Rossi).

1999 Champ Alex Criville. Had the #1 plate, lost it.

2000 Champ Kenny Roberts Jr. Had the #1 plate, lost it.

2006 Champ Nicky Hayden. Had the #1 plate, lost it.

2007 Champ Casey Stoner. Had the #1 plate, lost it.

2010 Champ Jorge Lorenzo. Had the #1 plate, lost it.

2011 Champ Casey Stoner. Had the #1 plate, lost it.

Yes I know that VR46 defended his world titles but my point is he never used the #1 plate.

 He kept running his trade mark #46. 

The last rider to use the #1 plate & keep it was the Legend Mick Doohan.

What a top bloke.....

I have been a fan of John Ryland's work ( http://www.classifiedmoto.com/ Twitter @JohnRyland  ) for the last few years now. I admire how he takes very plain and (almost) boring bikes, rip them to bits and re-invents them into stylish, attractive and simply beautiful machines. 

I was introduced to John by Chris Hunter of http://www.bikeexif.com/  ( Twitter @BikeEXIF ) and have since been a fan not only of John & his team's work on two wheels but also there work on taking old, broken, unloved old bike parts & turning them into feature items for the home:

If you think the quality of the lamp his good take a look at the bikes .

Even though my main 2 wheeled passion (as I'm sure you all know) is MotoGP, I do like to see people making a difference to the way people see motorcycle's & people like John & Chris are doing this. 

By showing not the normal plastic fantastic or yet another Harley based cruiser, but a whole spectrum of different styles & even types of motorcycle. 

We need people like this.

Well, after bouncing many tweets back and forth with John & doing the pleasure of introducing people to his site & his products, John said he was very great full. I said not to mention it.
